CEMC Member Falls Victim to Scam
|A CEMC member living on Hwy 49 in Robertson County fell victim to a scam involving two men posing as utility workers. The member reports two men in a white truck approached her home claiming they were working for CEMC as contractors employed by Lancaster Electric. The men said they needed to dig a ditch in front of her house and install a generator. The member left home and returned to find out she had been robbed. The incident occurred Monday, April 22.
CEMC urges its members to be wary of individuals approaching their home claiming to work for CEMC. Please be aware that all CEMC employees carry identification and drive marked vehicles. Do not hesitate to contact CEMC to confirm facts anytime you are presented with situations such as these.
