Cumberland Connect Surpasses 40,000 Internet Subscribers

Cumberland Connect recently reached a major milestone—more than 40,000 internet subscribers. This comes just months after the completion of the fiber network in December, marking a significant step in improving broadband access throughout our service area.

Reliable internet is essential for modern life, and Cumberland Connect’s fiber network is helping to bridge the connectivity gap in many of the rural communities we serve. Thousands of residential members now have access to fast, dependable internet—enabling remote work, online education, telehealth, entertainment, and more.

Access to high-speed fiber internet opens the door to countless long-term opportunities for rural communities. It supports students with the tools they need for digital learning, allows families to stay connected, and gives individuals the flexibility to work from home or access healthcare services online. In areas where limited options once created daily frustrations, our fiber service is helping to close the digital divide and improve quality of life.

This milestone reflects not only the demand for these services by our membership, but also the continued efforts to deliver reliable, high-quality internet through Cumberland Connect. Looking ahead, plans include expanding multi-gig offerings and introducing new features to enhance the member experience.
