CEMC Celebrates Lineworker Appreciation Day

Each year on the second Monday in April, we pause to recognize the brave men and women who power our communities—our electric cooperative lineworkers.

These dedicated individuals are more than just employees; they’re the backbone of CEMC. They work tirelessly to maintain and restore power, often in the most challenging and dangerous conditions. Whether it’s responding to outages in the dead of night or performing critical maintenance to keep the grid reliable, their work is essential—and often unseen.

This year’s Lineworker Appreciation Day feels especially meaningful following last week’s severe weather. As storms swept through our service area overnight through multiple nights, our crews were out in full force, battling the elements to keep the lights on and restore power safely and quickly. Their skill, courage, and determination were on full display, and we couldn’t be prouder of the way they serve our members.

So today, and every day, we say thank you. To our lineworkers—your resilience, dedication, and commitment to service make you true heroes. You are the heart of CEMC, and we are grateful for everything you do.
