Local Students Selected as CEMC Youth Tour Delegates to D.C.

Twelve local high school students have been chosen to represent CEMC on the 2025 Washington Youth Tour this month. These standout students earned their spots on the all-expenses-paid, weeklong adventure to Washington, D.C., by writing award-winning short stories titled “Electric Cooperatives Connect.” Their stories explored how electric co-ops help power Tennessee communities.

CEMC’s student delegates will join nearly 2,000 other teens from across the country for a once-in-a-lifetime experience in our nation’s capital. Along the way, they’ll visit iconic landmarks, museums, and memorials, tour the U.S. Capitol, and even meet with elected officials to see government in action.

Beyond this incredible trip, Youth Tour participants also have the chance to compete for additional college scholarships in the future. We wish them a safe trip!
