Oliver Retires, Harper Appointed to CEMC Board

Edward (Ed) Oliver of Clarksville recently announced his retirement from Cumberland Electric Membership Corporation’s board of directors, effective June 2026.

Oliver, who represented North Montgomery County, joined the board in 2013.

“Ed’s dedication and leadership have made a lasting impact on CEMC, and we are truly grateful for the time and commitment he has given over the years,” says General Manager Chris Davis.

Ryne Harper of Clarksville has been appointed to fill the remainder of Oliver’s term, which will be up for election in October.

A graduate of Austin Peay State University, Harper has worked as a real estate agent with Byers & Harvey, since 2022. Before beginning his career as a realtor, he played professional baseball for 11 years, and is a member of the Major League Baseball Alumni Association.

“As a lifelong resident of Clarksville, I have a strong interest in supporting the continued growth and success of our community. Serving on the CEMC board provides an opportunity to contribute to an organization that plays a vital role in the daily lives of local families and businesses,” says Harper. “I am honored to help ensure reliable, affordable services while representing the interests of members and supporting the cooperative’s long-term vision.”

Harper and his wife, Carson, have two children: Rush and Remington. Outside of work, he enjoys giving back to the community and supporting local schools and Austin Peay.
